Insect repellents have been defined as chemical compounds that produce orientated movements in the insect that move it away from the source. Authors define them as chemical compounds or a mixture of compounds that, in their vapor phase, trigger in the insect a behavior that makes it move in the opposite direction to the emitting source.
The use of insect repellents is not restricted to the human species: it has been observed that other primates usually anoint their fur by rubbing leaves of different plants or some species of millipedes.
A fertilizer or fertilizer is any type of organic or inorganic substance that contains nutrients in forms assimilable by plants, to maintain or increase the content of these elements in the soil, improve the quality of the substrate at the nutritional level, stimulate the vegetative growth of the plants.
The situation is about researching various materials to find the right one and create a natural pesticide and fertilizer.
Human populations have used repellents since ancient times, for example smoke from burning plants to protect them from insects. There are historical reports that document the existence of this practice in the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece and Rome, and also in American Indian populations. On the other hand, the essential oils of plants usually have repellent properties.During the first decades of the 20th century, the armed forces around the world devoted a great effort to the search of synthetic compounds with repellent properties. During the world wars, the armies suffered many losses due to typhus and malaria, two diseases transmitted by insect bites. For this reason, the need arose to find a chemical compound capable of keeping these insects away from the troops. The first compounds were patented between 1929 and 1937 and their use produced a significant decrease in cases of typhus among soldiers. On the other hand, caring for the environment is essential in this issue since there are chemical repellents that are very harmful to the environment. To protect plants at the same time. Lavender is native to North Africa and the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean, although it also grows throughout southern Europe, Australia and some parts of the United States today. The banana peel contains high levels of potassium which is responsible for transporting nutrients through the plant and is very important for the formation of flowers and fruits. The banana peel is a source of natural potassium that is a shame not to take advantage of.
Get the right substance to be able to move away pests and insects and at the same time nourish the plants by means of natural components
When I saw the garden of my house I saw that some plants had plagues and they were dry, so I started to investigate the solution of this problem.
If I manage to develop a pesticide and natural fertilizer based on peel of banana and lavender, then I can explain how it is possible to take care of the flora of our gardens in an economic and natural way.
Process•
Organize the materials• Make an infusion with banana peels in half a liter of water. (fertilizer)• Make an infusion with rosemary and lavender in half a liter of water, (natural pesticide• Unite the infusions and let cool• Pour into a plastic container with sprayer
Material
• one liter of purified water
•Banana peels
• lavender plant
• a plastic sprayer
When I made the infusion with the peel of banana and lavender, I could tell that after a week the insects no longer approached her, and little by little it was retaking its color that it had lost.
With a sample of 20 respondents of which are 22 men and 8 women from group 2 ° B of the Calmecac Telesecundaria School, a survey of 5 questions was applied to them, finding the following results:
With this research I was able to realize the importance of the health of our plants. And the how simple materials of easy access can help us to feed and serve as a shield of our plants
